Grow in Christ.
Go and Serve.
People are important to God. That theme is consistent throughout Scripture. And as you read the NT, you read about the impact Jesus has on the world—one person at a time. Jesus and his disciples taught and appealed to the masses, but the impact of their service was seen one person at a time. Whether it was the woman at the well, the man born blind, the Centurion’s son, or the “one that was lost”, Jesus’ mission unfolded through the changing of lives—one person at a time. At Pleasant Ridge, we uphold the value and importance of people. We believe that every person has God-given worth and gifts, as well as individual needs. We understand the value of the soul and the significance of deep relationships. And we’re looking to make a difference in the world the same way Jesus did—one person at a time.
Share the Story.
We are a people of “the story”. The stories of our lives, our church, and our world all come together in “the story” of Jesus Christ. And God has chosen us to continue the telling of His story to those who have not heard—around the corner and around the world. The story of God’s love, compassion, and forgiveness through Jesus Christ is a story worth sharing. When we share the story with our church family, that’s our ministry. When we share it with the lost, that’s our mission. In everything we do, we will share the story.
Grow in Christ.
Following Christ is not an event, it’s a life-long journey. The responsibility of our growth in Christ is our own. Every day of our lives we are expected to put ourselves in a position to be continually transformed into the image of Christ. Through the study of God’s Word, prayer, worship, and relationships, we are slowly changed to be like the One who gave his life for us. As a church, we seek to give each member the tools and resources necessary for them to continually grow in Christ at each stage of the journey.
Go and Serve.
Christ was a servant. No matter what “lens” through which you might read Scripture, you can clearly see that Jesus loved, cared for, and served the needs of people. Serving others is the natural outflow of a life growing in Christ. To be like Christ is to go and serve. As we go about our lives in this world, we will make a difference to those we come into contact with, one person at a time.
