Eduaction Ministry
The Education Ministry of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ seeks to change the lives of people through diligent studies in God’s inspired word and reinforcement of practical application of the truths it teaches. Our
Our Children’s Department consists of Early Childhood and Elementary divisions. With only a few exceptions, the curriculum in each class has been developed by our own teachers over a number of years. The curriculum for grades 2-6 in the Elementary Division is entitled Faith Focus. Written specifically by our former department coordinator, Sally Frazier, this chronological, story-based Bible curriculum for children is now used in more than 90 churches in our fellowship. In addition to teaching excellence, safety and security are also high priorities in our Children’s Department. All our teachers have taken special safety training and submitted to a criminal background check.
The Adult Department currently offers twelve classes on Sunday mornings, most following the same curriculum plan, but each with its own unique personality and teaching style. Sunday classes place a strong emphasis on Bible study, following the scope and sequence of the Life Links to God adult curriculum from 21st Century Christian publishing company.
Our Wednesday evening program offers a wide variety elective classes tailored to the various needs and interests of the learners. All our teachers are serious students of the scriptures, effective and gifted communicators, and genuine “people persons” who care about the spiritual growth and well-being of their class members. Sunday adult classes are one of the major “entry points” into the body-life of the Pleasant Ridge family.
Information about class offerings and locations are posted in major traffic areas all over the building. We also maintain an Education Ministry information table in the Atrium where a variety of information, announcements and resources are available.
